OUR MISSION - Since 1946: The Pasadena Lapidary Society serves to educate its members and the community in mineralogy, earth sciences, and training in the lapidary and jewelry arts – while promoting a policy of sound mineral resource stewardship based on environmental awareness and ethical behavior. The Society fulfills its mission year-round which may include field trips, lapidary workshops, outreach presentations, public mineral displays, an annual show, and our monthly informational meetings which are open to the public. |
.Dr. Aaron Celestian will be the guest speaker at the program meeting of the Pasadena Lapidary Society on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. There is no fee to attend the meeting and the public is welcome! Dr. Aaron Celestian, curator of gems and minerals at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles will give a talk entitled "Living in a Mineral World", which is about minerals and the environment. |

Our Youth: Our youth are the future of our Society! We have an active program that includes our youth in all of our activities during which they are trained supervised by a responsible adult. Our Junior members regularly participate in field trips, work shops, displays at our annual show and presentations at meetings and community events!. |

The Pasadena Lapidary Society is a registered non-profit educational society. We meet each month, except December, at 6:45pm on the 3rd Tuesday in the Donald Wright Auditorium of the Pasadena Central Library, 285 E. Walnut Street, Pasadena, California. Doors open at 6:00 pm. In December we meet for a holiday party, awards and installation dinner. Watch for details in the club's newsletter! |

Courtney Richards, the principal paleontologist for Paleo Solutions, Inc. of Monrovia, will talk about her work of documenting, excavation, collection and curation of artifacts and fossils uncovered during construction projects. She is expected to bring examples of fossils that have been unearthed. |
